The best possible solution of economic crises is found in Free Market Economy

The participants of second FreedomGate Pakistan (FGP) seminar in 2007 broaden their horizon to comprehend the real meaning of Globalization. The main focus remained on deciphering the pros and cons of the “Battle of Ideas” in the last century and its effects on the world economy. The documentary “Commanding Heights” captivated the attention of the audience as the comprehensive analysis of the global economy, world war and political crises in different countries brought them the knowledge as they found the actual reasons behind the fate of the failed and disintegrated states.

The moderator - FreedomGater and IAF alumnae - Aniq Zafar based his line of action in concurrence with the different parts of this documentary. They participants were made to analyze the political, social, cultural, economical and developmental aspects of the three parts of the video. The vision of second part “Agony of Reforms” was harrowing that presented a pessimistic picture of the world in agony due to various reformers who exercised and implemented their views of economic reforms in the developing countries. The third part “New Rules of the Game” prepared the participants to understand the new vision and new meaning of Globalization. The participants also debated extensively on the positive and negative impacts of Globalization on the global and regional economy. They found the solution of the economic crises especially in developing countries in Free Market Economy.

A special highlight of this seminar was the lecture on “Aspects of Globalization from a European point of view” by Mr. Manfred Richter, member of the board of directors of Friedrich-Naumann-Stiftung für die Freiheit. He emphasized the chances of globalization especially for developing countries like Pakistan.

The participants belonging to different FNSt partners and other interested institutions and organizations of Pakistani civil society too expressed their appreciation about the initiative taken by FGP to conduct seminars like this. They hope to get invited again for further such activities moderated by well skilled and well trained FreedomGaters.
